Title Studies on Biological Character and Softwood Cutting Propagation Technique of Wolfberry ‘Mengqi 1′
Abstract

Biological characteristics, stress-resistance, fruit yield and quality of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″and Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″were detailed studied on 2008 in Qianqi (XianFeng Township, WuLan county, Ba yan nur city), Linhe (Hetao university, Ba yan nur city) and HangJin(HangJinQi, Ordos city) in this experiment. The cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″and Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″were all annotinous branch in these three areas, three plots in every area, 40 plants in every plot, space between plants was 2m×2.5m and the size of every area was 200 m2. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design and three replications. At the same time, Effects of Different rooting reagents on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″, effects of different diameter on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″, effects of different lignified degree on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″, effects of different leaf numbers on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″, effects of different temperatures in greenhouse on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″and effects of different humidity on the survival of cuttings of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″were systematic carried out in intelligent greenhouse in horticultural research institute of Mongolia. The results were as follows:(1) The fruit size of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″was more than twice as big as Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″. Its yield was no difference with Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″. Fruit yield of three-years-old plant was 1475.9 kg/hm2. There were significant differences among fruit yield of three test-areas, highest fruit yield occurred in Linhe area, followed by Qianqi. Super class rate and first rate of fruit were respectively over 95% and 100%. Fruits were tidy and aesthetic. Picking time after fruit mature was 10 day, which was more than twice as long as Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″. Damage rate of fruit was less than that of Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″.(2) Nutrient Contents were very high in Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″. Its total sugar content was 65.9%、reducing sugar 64.0%、carotene 41.7mg/100g、vitaminB1 0.364mg/100g、vitaminB2 0.338mg/100g vitamin C 92.2mg/100g、calcium 908mg/kg、ferrum 85.3mg/kg、total amino acid 7.824%、titratable acid 2.38%、ash 3.76%、water 15.4%. Sugar content was more significant than Wolfberry”Ningqi 1″, others was not significant differences.(3) Survival rate of Softwood was 64% with 100mg/kg NAA treatment, more one time higher than CK treatment; Survival rate of Softwood was 75% with 100mg/kg IBA treatment, 43% higher than CK treatment; Survival rate of Softwood was 91% with 100mg/kg NAA +100mg/kg IBA treatment, 59% higher than CK; Survival rate of Softwood was 84% with 200mg/kg NAA +200mg/kg IBA treatment, 52% higher than CK. These shows: The NAA and IBA hormones both could significantly increased growth and survival rate of Softwood cutting of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″, and the combined use of NAA and IBA had better effect than single use. The use effect of different treatments were 100mg/kgNAA + 100mg/kgIBA >200mg/kgNAA + 200mg/kgIBA > 100mg/kgIBA>100mg/kgNAA.(4) Retain leaf numbers、diameter and lignified degree of softwood cutting had significant effect on survival rate of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″. Different cutting diameter test showed that Softwood cutting of 0.2~0.4cm diameter had best effect, and survival rate and rooting number were respectively 88% and 6.3. Different lignifications’test showed that half lignifications had best effect, and survival rate and rooting number were respectively 86% and 4.8. Retain leaf numbers test show: leaf numbers of retain 3~4 had highest survival rate and rooting number, and were respectively 82% and 4.5. So softwood cutting of 0.2~0.4cm diameter、half lignifications and leaf numbers of retain 3~4 had the best effect and highest survival rate in Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″.(5) Temperature and humidity of propagation greenhouse have direct effect on propagation rooting rate of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″. The optimum environment for softwood cutting propagation of Wolfberry”Mengqi 1″were temperature around 30℃, and survival rate was 89%; the maximum temperature couldn’t exceed 35℃, the minimum temperature couldn’t lower than 25℃. Optimum humidity range was 90%~95%, and survival rate was 90%; the minimum humidity couldn’t lower than 80% (If humidity lower than 80%, survival rate had only 32%).
